Happy Valentine's Day!
Free Activity Friday - Social Rugrats
This one's for the adults to do for the kiddos! Create a Heartbook--this can be done every year on Valentine's Day. Make a simple heart-shaped template about 7-8 inches tall and wide and cut out ten of them on red paper. Use cardstock paper for the book cover. Decorate the cover with stickers or drawings of things you know your child loves and label the book "Ten Things I Love About _______." Use a hole punch to punch out 2 holes at the top curves of the hearts and use a string or ribbon to hold the pages together. This is also useful for a handle to hang the heartbook. Hang the heartbook on the door for your child on Valentine's Day. This gift is thoughtful and meaningful and something they will cherish always.

Draw or sculpt something out of snow (snow angel, snowman, etc.) and paint it!

This is a great winter activity for families because it is a unique way to let your kids be creative, allows your kids to be outside getting fresh air, and is fun for the entire family! Preparation is easy--just gather as many food coloring bottles you have available as well as spray bottles, paint brushes and paint bowls. To prepare the spray bottles, simply fill the spray bottles with cold water and add a few drops of food coloring. You can even have your kiddos experiment with mixing the colors to create different paint colors! Once you have your paint supplies ready, head outdoors and paint paint paint!
